China’s new Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) comes into effect on
1 Nov 2021. Foreign companies handling Chinese citizen’s personal data must comply and all data from Chinese citizens must be kept within China, making it much more challenging for companies to use Chinese consumer data outside China.
